Until the launch of the brand new „Petit Caballeros“ this cigar, launched in 2007, was the youngest child in the house of Piedra. With a smoking time of about 25 – 30 minutes, it is the perfect companion for every break!
Flavours
No one will expect an exciting development or exuberant complexity from a short filler of this size. Its strengths lie in the wonderful concentration and groundedness of the flavour. A little more leathery and woody than its bigger sisters, the short one offers the same spicy flavour with impeccable smoking properties, underpinned with nice notes of smoke and tobacco. José L. Piedra ist eine besonders bemerkenswerte Habano, denn die Einlageblätter stammen nicht nur aus der Tabakanbauzone Remedios, sondern die Zigarren sind totalmente a mano, tripa corta – vollständig von Hand gefertigte Shortfiller. Die Familie Piedra siedelte in den 80er Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts aus der spanischen Provinz Asturien nach Kuba um. Sie ließen sich in der Nähe der Stadt Santa Clara nieder, die im Herzen der Region Remedios liegt, wo seit dem 16. Jahrhundert Tabak angebaut wird. Dort begannen sie mit der Zigarrenherstellung. Der mit vollem Namen bekannte José Lamadrid Piedra führte die zweite Generation an, gründete und entwickelte die Marke, wie wir sie heute kennen.
