Worth knowing
Everything about this pre-revolution Habano is classic – the „Hermoso No. 4“ format, the quintessentially Cuban tobacco blend, even the (unlike the other „Connis“!) correct spelling of the Frenchösic. A perfect starter cigar for 45 – 60 minutes that must be tried.
Flavours
The taste could hardly be more typically Cuban. The medium-bodied smoke offers a charming honey and a wonderfully creamy umami character reminiscent of cereals and light nuts, which is complemented by the classic, noble HU woody facets (especially cedar). As the smoke progresses, it becomes a little more intense, darker and richer, with a spicy leathery aspect, but always remains exciting and balanced. A decidedly „uncomplicated“ cigar with a mostly rather light draw and a particularly harmonious taste.

Hermann Upmann war ein Bankier aus Deutschland, der kubanische Zigarren so sehr liebte, dass er 1844 nach Havanna umsiedelte, wo er fortan als Bankier und Zigarrenhersteller tätig war. Seine Bank musste kurz nach 1920 geschlossen werden, aber seine Zigarren leben als exzellentes Beispiel für eine Habano von leichtem bis mittelkräftigem Geschmack weiter. Garant für den Erfolg Upmanns war sein Bestreben, ausschließlich erstklassige Qualität zu liefern. Die H.Upmann -Habanos waren bekannt für ihre Verpackung in edlen Kisten aus dem Holz spanischer Zedern zusammen mit einer Garantieerklärung und der Unterschrift Hermann Upmanns – die Produktion fand und findet in Havanna statt.
