Flavours
As with the Partagás of the same name, you can actually taste the “thousand flowers”! The cigar is characterized by fine floral and sweet fruity aromas rather than the typical RyJ nut/leather notes with their roasted, pithy touch. In the course of the middle third, the emphasis shifts somewhat in the latter direction - as with many Habanos - without the balance being lost. For good reasons, hardly any other product stands for “the” characteristic taste of a Habano.

Shakespeares berühmtes Liebespaar Romeo und Julia stand jedenfalls Pate bei der spanischsprachigen Namensgebung für die Marke Romeo y Julieta. Sie ist eine der ältesten Marken unter den Spitzen-Habanos, die Manufaktur existiert seit 1875. Die Marke wurde während des frühen 20. Jahrhunderts unter der Führung von Don „Pepin“ Rodríguez weltberühmt, einem talentierten Geschäftsmann, der als einer der ersten die Macht der Zigarrenringe erkannte. Während seiner Glanzzeit wurden nicht weniger als 20.000 verschiedene Zigarrenringe für die Produktion verwendet.

The term Boveda comes from the Spanish and means vaulted cellar. It is a proprietary humidity control product that has been specially developed for use in cigar cases, countertop and travel humidors. Each Humipak contains a saturated salt and water solution protected by a bi-directional permeable membrane. The Boveda Humipaks offer the user the advantage that he no longer has to remember to top up the humidor's water reservoir, as he simply replaces the corresponding number of Boveda Paks in the humidor every 2 - 3 months. The Humipaks are designed to release treated moisture into the humidor, thus minimising the risk of bacteria, mould or fungi developing in the humidor. They also have the advantage over other humidification systems that they minimise fluctuations in the moisture balance, allowing cigars to mature perfectly. The constant moisture balance preserves the natural oils and sugar components of the cigars, giving them the opportunity to improve with age.
