Buy cigars by La Gloria Cubana
La Gloria Cubana is a little known jewel among Habanos brands. Nevertheless, it can look back on a long history. Founded in 1885, the name clearly indicates the origin of the brand. For over a hundred years, it has had a small but loyal following among experienced cigar aficionados. In 1954, the brand was purchased by the Cifuentes family along with the Bolívar brand. Production then moved to the Partagás factory, where it is still made today. The La Gloria Cubana brand stands out for its elegant presentation, especially in the Medaille d'Or series. Unfortunately, the long, slender formats of this series went out of fashion over time and so today only one format of this brand is still in the program - the Medaille d'Or No.4. The blend, which is composed of filler and binder leaves from the tobacco growing zone Vuelta Abajo, is medium-bodied and offers balanced nuances in taste and aroma.
Worth knowing
With countless discontinued Vítolas, the traditional brand LGC has unfortunately suffered the same fate as various other Cuban manufacturers. Only this pencil-thin “Palmita“, which has been around for a very long time, is still in the portfolio. Amazing 55 – 70 minutes smokeable. An absolute insider tip!
Flavors
This cigar miraculously combines two very different flavor worlds in perfect harmony. The fruity-sweet flavor of the prelude is reminiscent of brands like Trinidad or Cuaba; here you really feel fresh tropical fruits and flowers on the palate. Impressive! Gradually a clear noble-tart cocoa note creeps in, combined with the fine spiciness of dark wood. But sweet notes remain present. The smoke becomes more spicy, full-bodied and also more crisp. An immensely exciting smoke – wonderful cigar!

Worth knowing
We can't recommend the “small”, less well-known Habanos brands often enough, as they are not one iota behind the better-known ones and are usually priced a little lower. This is also the case with this brand new, ingenious Robusto Largo with a smoking time of approx. 60 - 70 minutes.
Flavor
LGC stands for typical Cuban tobacco enjoyment of the medium-bodied kind and for a “colorful”, rather sweet and sweet taste palette. This new one is not out of line: cedar wood with a cinnamon-tingling aftertaste, traces of fully ripe fruit sweetness, forest honey and a small hint of mint blend in beautiful harmony with the “darker” tones that emerge more clearly as the smoke progresses: Cocoa and malt, licorice, but also delicate overtones of spicy herbs. As you can see, this smoke is a lesson in complexity and a truly perfect summer cigar!
