Buy cigars by Fonseca
Don Francisco Fonseca founded his brand in the 1890s. He himself was a handsome man who attached great importance to his outward appearance and was able to transfer this elegance to his cigars. For this reason, he wrapped his Habanos in tissue paper - a tradition that continues to this day with all formats that bear his name. The Fonsecas' delicate blend of filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region makes it the ideal cigar after a light meal. Fonseca short fillers obtain their tobacco from the Semi Vuelta tobacco growing zone.
Worth knowing
Like all Fonseca cigars, this slightly shortened Corona is wrapped in attractive tissue paper. This hallmark of the traditional brand dates back to the late 19th century. She has always used tobaccos from the Semi Vuelta growing region, which gives her Habanos a very special touch. Smoking time approx. 50 - 65 minutes.
Flavours
Fonseca stands for rather light, mild Habanos. Nevertheless, the elegant format is quite tasteful. It is - especially at first - characterized by a wonderful fermentation acidity reminiscent of caramel; at the same time, its pleasantly leathery appearance combined with fine, ethereal notes of wood is typically Cuban. Gentle creaminess and a subliminal cocoa tone complete the captivating taste profile, which increasingly includes hearty but also fresh facets as the smoke progresses. Sometimes the smoke is reminiscent of Sancho Panza- cigars. Insider tip for beginners!
Worth knowing
This cigar nowadays offers the rare combination of shortfiller filler and pure handmade; however, until 2002 it was machine-made. It offers classic Fonseca quality without compromise. Smoking time 35 – 45 minutes.
Flavours
Typically mild and filigree in taste, this elegant cigar convinces with a delicate combination of spicy-mineral and sweet-flavoured notes. Classical Cuban facets such as a discreet leathery impression and fine woody spiciness come to the fore more and more as the smoke progresses. Overall, the Delicias are a little more noble and concentrated than the larger formats of the brand, but still wonderfully balanced and, despite their short filler character, quite complex.

Worth knowing
This small Panetela variant is one of the perennial favourites in the Fonseca portfolio, which has generally undergone far fewer changes than that of many other Habanos brands. The elegant cigar is a fully handmade long filler with a smoking time of 25 minutes.
Flavours
The „Cadet“ offers the flavours typical of the brand – as the dünne format suggests – in quite a concentrated, intense form. Less sweet than most other vintages, it unfolds pleasantly leathery notes alongside wonderful umami flavour and spicy-mineral notes. But a hint of cocoa also makes itself felt in the background. The unique selling point of this cigar is a delightful herbaceous component that no other Fonseca offers. It is multi-layered and also quite full-bodied, but rather light at the same time.

Worth knowing
Curiously, the discontinuation of this largest Fonseca cigar in the „Cazadores“ format was announced as early as 2012. Nevertheless, this classic, which was produced before the revolution, is still on the market and is apparently still being produced – luckily! Smoking time 60 – 75 minutes.
Flavours
This gem in tissue paper presents itself as particularly mild, creamy and gentle. Flattering nut and spice aromas come out more clearly than in other cigars of the brand. Like many relatively long Coronas, its aroma develops in the course of smoking towards more spiciness and body. Typically Fonseca, however, it remains quite light until the end and is therefore ideally suited for beginners. The pleasant subliminal sweetness remains throughout.
