This perennial favourite in the HdM portfolio has the length of a Minuto, yet a slender Lancero ring gauge. In the distant past, it was even delivered in giant boxes („Cajónes“) of 100 pieces because of the great demand, and it is still popular today. Smoking time approx. 30 – 40 minutes.
Flavours
The hollow „Depute“ apparently delivers relatively spicy tobacco, the format also plays a role here – in any case, the small format comes up to the mark with (for HdM proportions!) decent power and body. A distinctive, noble wood aroma is in the foreground; the brand-typical sweetness is rather restrained, but can definitely be tasted. Coffee aroma and toasty cereal taste provide a certain „Sunday brunch feeling“ and predestine the „Trabuco“ (engl. „Stutzen“, official format designation) to be the first cigar of the day!

Hoyo De Monterrey
José Gener, ein spanischer Einwanderer aus Tarragona, hatte 1860 den richtigen Riecher! Er war einer derjenigen, die die einzigartige Qualität der Tabakblätter um den kleinen Ort San Luis y Martínez in der privilegierten Vegetation des heute herkunftgeschützten Anbaugebiets Vuelta Abajo erkannten. Die Einlage- und Umlageblätter hatten es ihm angetan für seine Marke Hoyo de Monterrey, benannt nach der Senke, auf der sich die Plantagen bis an die Ufer des Flusses San Juan y Martínez erstrecken – der Senke von Monterrey. Der Pionier Gener nannte nicht nur die ganze Plantage Hoyo de Monterrey, sondern ab 1865 auch seine beste Habanomarke, die bis heute existiert. Die Plantage mit den Verwaltungsgebäuden und der Manufaktur ist mitten im Tabakort San Luis y Martínez angesiedelt – sie ist eine der wenigen Vegas de Primera, wo nur die besten Blätter wachsen, die zum Teil auch für die Cohibas verwendet werden. Die Einfahrt auf die Plantage schmückt ein imposantes Tor mit der Inschrift „Hoyo de Monterrey. José Gener. 1860“. Vor allem bei Liebhabern von Habanos, die einen leichten Geschmack bevorzugen und gleichzeitig hohe Ansprüche an Aroma und Komplexität stellen, hat sie sich weltweit einen Namen gemacht. Mit ihrer feinen Mischung ist sie gleichermaßen beliebt bei anspruchsvollen Beginnern.

The name Boveda comes from the Spanish and means vaulted cellar. It is a practical product for humidity control that has been specially developed for use in cigar cases, countertop and travel humidors. Each Humipak contains a concentrated salt and water solution protected by a bi-directional permeable membrane. Compared to other humidification systems, Boveda Humipaks have the advantage that the user no longer has to remember to refill the water reservoir of his humidor, as he simply replaces the corresponding number of Boveda Paks in the humidor every 2 - 3 months. The Humipaks are designed to release treated moisture into the humidor, thus minimizing the risk of bacteria, mould or fungi forming in the humidor. They also have the advantage of minimizing fluctuations in the humidity balance of the humidor, allowing the cigars to mature perfectly. The constant humidity level preserves the natural oils and sugar components of the cigars, allowing them to continue to develop with age.

A synthetic fibre, specially and optimally adapted to the weather, is used to measure the air humidity. The measuring deviation is +/- 3% and guarantees a fast response time. With the integrated magnet system, the hygrometer can be easily attached anywhere in the humidor. Due to the small diameter of only 67 mm, this hygrometer is also ideally suited for smaller humidors.
