It's actually a shame that the popular budget brand only offers this one cigarillo format for friends of stronger Cuban tobacco. The minis are as down-to-earth as they are high-quality as a hearty 10-minute smoke.

José L. Piedra ist eine besonders bemerkenswerte Habano, denn die Einlageblätter stammen nicht nur aus der Tabakanbauzone Remedios, sondern die Zigarren sind totalmente a mano, tripa corta – vollständig von Hand gefertigte Shortfiller. Die Familie Piedra siedelte in den 80er Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts aus der spanischen Provinz Asturien nach Kuba um. Sie ließen sich in der Nähe der Stadt Santa Clara nieder, die im Herzen der Region Remedios liegt, wo seit dem 16. Jahrhundert Tabak angebaut wird. Dort begannen sie mit der Zigarrenherstellung. Der mit vollem Namen bekannte José Lamadrid Piedra führte die zweite Generation an, gründete und entwickelte die Marke, wie wir sie heute kennen.
