The Montecristo ‘No. 2’ and various large Cohiba formats may be better known and have a more glamorous image - but this classic Double Corona has always won the hearts of countless connoisseurs. The blend may have been ‘toned down’ somewhat - as with other Habanos - but it is still one of the best! A cigar for over 2 hours.
Flavours
It would go far beyond the scope of this article to describe the many changes in flavour during the smoking process. Just this much: the ‘Lusi’ is one of those great cigars whose enjoyment is like a flavourful adventure. Fragrant resin, plenty of cinnamon-cedar-like ethereality, beguilingly floral, heavy sweetness, a hint of cocoa on the palate that is otherwise hardly known from Partagás; opulent exotic spice as if from the Mogul cuisine of Persia and northern India; behind this, down-to-earth earth and leather notes with umami roasting tones throughout. Malt and liquorice in the finish. A magical cigar; no longer quite as strongly blended as in the past, but still above average in strength.

Der große Patron Don Jaime Partagás gab der Manufaktur wie auch den Habanos den Namen – seit 1845! Havanna-Kenner wissen um die Nähe der Manufaktur Partagás zum Capitol, die nur einen Steinwurf entfernt in der bekannten Calle Industria Número 520 liegt. Of course, the new collection from S.T. Dupont doesn't just include lighters from the luxury goods manufacturer's various series, because how can you enjoy the cigars from Partagas' premium line without opening them properly? As with the last joint collections with Cuban premium cigar brands, the "Partagas Linea Maestra" collection also features the Stand Cutter, a luxurious cutting tool that can be used as a cigar bank if required. The Stand Cutter can be converted into a cigar bench with a simple tilting movement of the movable inner part, so aficionados always have the option of placing their cigars on it. The inner part of the cigar cutter, which is decorated with a gold-plated frame, is coated with a clear blue lacquer, with the outline of a tobacco leaf engraved underneath. The Linea Maestra lettering is engraved on the front of the cutting blade and the outline of the Partagas manufactory is engraved on the back. To open the guillotine cutter, pull the micro-diamond-studded handle of the cutting blade upwards and press it down again to close it. When closing, the guillotine opens cigars up to a 58 ring gauge.

The S.T. Dupont Maxijet Linea Maestra Blue Gold is not only characterised by its discreetly oval lighter body, but also shines with its completely blue and gold-coloured finish.
