Which aficionado doesn't know the classic image of Fidel Castro with a Cohiba Lancero in his mouth? It has become rare, the most iconic Habanos format - all the better that this foil from one of the most underrated Cuban brands is now available (with a hefty delay)! Smoking time approx. 80 - 90 minutes.
Flavors
The small brand has long since shed its image of being "just" a lighter alternative to Montecristo. And rightly so, because as this characterful foil proves, Diplomaticos has its very own characteristics! What it has in common with Monte is the bitter-sweet, chocolatey impression and the subtlety of the various spicy notes, which meet the palate in an exciting interplay. In the first half in particular, however, these facets complement each other perfectly with a completely different, yet magnificently harmonizing world of aromas of flowers, caramel, liquorice and cedar. As the smoke progresses, the profound earth and cocoa tones increasingly assert themselves with steadily increasing, overall medium strength. A jewel!

Diplomáticos ist eine vergleichsweise junge Marke aus den 60er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts. Ursprünglich sollen diese Zigarren speziell für den Verkauf in Frankreich bestimmt gewesen sein. Viele Details erinnern an die Marke Montecristo. So zum Beispiel bei der Bezeichnung der Formate. Statt Namen, werden bei den Diplomáticos die gleichen Nummern-Codes zur Bezeichnung der Formate wie bei Montecristo verwendet. Die Mischung ist etwas leichter gehalten, als die von Montecristo. Derzeit wird in Kuba nur noch das Pirámide-Format dieser Marke gefertigt: Die Diplomaticos No.2.
