When the good Simón first smiled from a cigar of this name in 2009, the golden foil wrapped a slender 42 Lonsdale. Anno 2023, the powerful beauty has increased to RM 48 - sensual and elegant all the more so, offering up to 1 ½ hours of high pleasure.
Aroma
As expected, the long Hermoso is not as punchy as the "first edition" - yet it embodies the brand's resinous-leathery-intense tradition somewhat more offensively than the relatively "harmless" blend of the regular formats these days. Distinguished tannins and noble roasted substances bring to mind oak, expensive black tea and the finest leather, as well as walnut and mocha; on the other hand, the unmistakable "lemony" touch of acidity that makes a Bolívar so characteristic can be tasted again and again, wonderfully cushioned with a dash of seductive honey sweetness. Nuts and spices dominate the exciting finish. Fantastic!

Der aus Venezuela stammende Unabhängigkeitskämpfer Simón Bolívar war eine der großen historischen Gestalten des 19. Jahrhunderts. Er befreite weite Teile Südamerikas von der spanischen Kolonialherrschaft. Die nach ihm benannte Marke Bolívar wurde 1902 ins Leben gerufen und wird heute in der Manufaktur von Partagás im Herzen Havannas gefertigt. Es ist kaum verwunderlich, dass eine Habano, die den Namen einer so beeindruckenden Persönlichkeit trägt, auch so gemischt ist, dass sich dies im Geschmack ausdrückt. Bolívar gehört zu den stärksten und aromatischsten aller Habanos. Sie kann sich einer unübertroffen ausgeprägten Reichhaltigkeit ihrer Mischung aus Einlage- und Umblättern der Tabakanbauzone Vuelta Abajo rühmen. Dies macht sie unter erfahrenen Rauchern zu einer der meistgesuchten Marken. Alle Formate sind totalmente a mano, tripa larga – vollständig von Hand gefertigte Longfiller.
