Die Bezeichnung „Dos Maderas“ heißt übersetzt zwei Hölzer, diese verleihen dem Rum neben seinen unverwechselbaren Geschmack auch seine Farbe. Bevor der Dos Maderas Triple Aged Rum 5+5 in die Flasche gefüllt wird, hat er eine lange Reise hinter sich, denn zunächst reift er in Barbados und Guyana 5 Jahre in Sherry Fässern, bevor er in Spanien 3 Jahre in Dos Cortados und anschließend weitere 2 Jahre in Ximénez – Sherry Fässern lagert.
Aromen
Im Glas liegt er wie dunkler Bernstein und betört in der Nase mit einer harmonischen Vielschichtigkeit die von Karamell -, Melasse – und reifen Fruchtnoten durchzogen ist. Bereits beim ersten Schluck offenbart der Premiumrum aus der Karibik seinen facettenreichen Charakter mit süßen Vanille - und Sherry Aromen, die von einer unterschwelligen würzigen Holz - und Schokoladennote abgerundet wird. Der mundraumfüllende eher kurze Abgang repräsentiert nochmals die unverwechselbare Sherry Charakteristik, die von Frucht – und Tabaknoten abgerundet wird.
