Buy cigars by Montecristo
The sophisticated reputation of the Montecristo brand precedes it all over the world. No brand is better known and none is so synonymous with a premium Habano. It is the reference for all other Habanos. Quality, taste and aroma are outstanding and very intense. The sonorous name alone awakens memories of childhood and the first encounter with the novel The Count of Montecristo by Alexandre Dumas in every aficionado. The identity of the names is not a coincidence, but rather due to the fact that the novel was one of the readers' favorite readings for the torcedores in the H.Upmann manufactory, where it was originally handcrafted. When looking for a fitting name for the top Habanos, they quickly agreed. Since its baptism in the 1930s, the Montecristo has been an entity that no other Habano can ignore. At least for lovers of medium-strength mixtures. Nowadays, the selection, which was originally limited to an assortment numbered 1 to 5, includes everything a cigar smoker's heart desires - from the majestic Montecristo A to the little Joyita. They all have the typical Montecristo taste in common.
Worth knowing
Original idea to name a Torpedo cigar after a boat trip of all things – the specific format as such is in turn called „Forum“. The somewhat shortened Corona Gorda with a rejuvenated head presents the „Open“-blend in any case äußonly delightfully for about 50 – 65 minutes.
Flavours
For quite a few aficionados, this is the most complex „Open“cigar. How the Habano tastes in rough sea air remains to be seen – under normal conditions, it unfolds a multi-layered world of aromas in which brand-typical notes combine with particularly fine honey, distinguished crumb notes, elegant cedar scent and underlying R&R notes. In terms of body and flavour intensity, it attracts more than the other representatives of the series, but not in terms of strength, which is hardly higher than that of the „Master“. A very elegant format that will also appeal to Hoyo and Upmann fans.

Two years after introducing the „Edmundo“, Montecristo followed up with this 1-inch shorter „Short Smoke“ in 2006. This way, the popular blend of the series can be enjoyed in a manageable time frame of about 45 – 60 minutes.
Flavours
The „PE“ is of course very similar to its big sister; however, the shorter format causes some differences, especially in terms of intensity in the first third of the smoke. The spicy components are somewhat reminiscent of the brand's Coronas, but the typical creamy mocha aromas and the chocolate note of the thicker Vítolas also unfold clearly. The short one seems a little more crisp, also more aromatic, but at the same time also has the more intensive fermentation. A charming smoke, medium strong and wonderfully balanced!

In 2013 – the trend for „short fatties“ was at its peak – this lovable short version of the famous „No. 2“ was launched. Like the equally large „Petit Edmundo“ a fun cigar of the purest water!
Flavours
In terms of taste and smoking time (approx. 50 – 60 minutes), the Habano is close to the last two thirds of its big sister. That is to say: It is more intense, richer and somewhat lighter in aroma, with vague parallels to Ramón Allones (nuts, earth). However, the blissful melting of dark chocolate and the creamy spiciness of espresso macchiato are not missed either. A very flavourful, above-average Montecristo with a linear, but despite the coolness, clear development. A noble little powerhouse!

Monte's equivalent of Coihiba's "Siglo III" is only available in a tubo and should not be confused with the 1 cm longer "No. 1". One of the last Mohicans of this elegant format group - a pity really! Smoking time: approx. 65 - 75 minutes.
Flavours
Not only the size, but also the flavour profile falls exactly between the "No.1" and the "No. 3". In other words: the typical Monte aroma unfolds with greater intensity. What begins with milk coffee, dark chocolate and playful hay notes visibly takes on the character of Turkish mocha and cocoa, permanently surrounded by cinnamon and nutmeg spices and an adhering fermentation sweetness. In the last third - at a somewhat above-average strength - a deep earthiness spreads across the palate without displacing the other facets. An extremely noble smoke.

"Duke No. 3" is the official format designation for this opulent Robusto with RM 54 - the Count of Montecristo likes it classy. All fans of the brand will also find this new smoke a very noble pleasure for approx. 55 - 65 minutes!
Aroma
The Edmundo series is a typical child of the 21st century - above-average thickness and a somewhat mellowed blend compared to the standard series guarantee a comfortable smoking experience. This exquisite cigar adds to that. All the hallmarks of the cult brand are present without compromise - the melting cocoa flavour, the toasty mocha note, the subtle sweetness, the playful hint of hay and the earthy-profound character of the final third. The unique selling point, however, is the fabulously soft, even creamy smoke texture of this medium-strength Habano - you would love to simply bathe in the smoke!
