San Cristobal de La Habana, El Principe, La Fuerza, La Punta

Cigars by San Cristobal de La Habana

San Cristóbal de La Habana was the original name of Havana, the capital of Cuba, when it was founded in 1519. The naming in honor of San Cristóbal, known in German as Saint Christopher, is based on the fact that the founding of the city fell on San Cristóbal's name day. La Habana, by the way, is an Indian name for square. The San Cristóbal de La Habana brand was introduced in 1999, just before the start of the new millennium, in honor of the city's long history. There are currently three formats, each named after one of Havana's fortresses, built between the 16th and 18th centuries. They served the Spanish colonial masters to defend the city against possible attacks and are called: La Fuerza, La Punta and El Príncipe.
